Using 2010 as a website, not blog

  I am trying to create a website so I don’t need all the widgets, comments box etc. I am using theme 2010 but instead of having widgets in the RHS, I’d like other text, maybe an image. is this possible?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
