Using a cancelled domain registration with another service

    Hello,
I purchased and then cancelled the domain registration for exploreeuropeandbeyond.com. I now want to register the same domain name using Bluehost, but it seems that the domain is not available. How can I make the domain available for use with another provider?

    Kind regards
    Daniel

  • You’ve canceled the domain name, meaning you no longer own it.

Please let us know which of these options works best for you:

Wait: You can wait about five days from cancellation for the domain to be released. So long as no one else buys it before you do, you can purchase it again with another provider.

Repurchase the Domain: We can send an invoice and restore the domain. You’ll be able to point it to a new host as soon as it’s restored, then transfer the registration after 60 days.

Repurchase a Plan: To host your site here instead, please buy a plan, skip the domain option, and update us here.

Thank you for the quick answer. I want to do the first option. Since I cancelled the domain on the 11th of April, the domain should become available around 16th of April, right?
Related to that, when looking up exploreeuropeandbeyond on who.is it says the domain expires on 10-Apr-2023, but I guess that information is not correct?

  • Hi there,

Since I cancelled the domain on the 11th of April, the domain should become available around 16th of April, right?

The five days are actually counted from the day you registered the domain, so the 10th. And it looks like the domain has already been released by the registry – I just checked, and it’s no longer on our system. It’s showing as available if I search for it on our add domains screen, so you should be able to register it again at any domain provider now.
