Using a connected email

  Hello! I wanted to create a new WordPress craft blog on the free blogging platform. However, I wanted to connect it to a domain I already own that has a dedicated email attached to it. Can I transfer that to the WordPress platform or should I just get the mapping? I want to keep my dedicated email.

  Good morning –

  You can map or transfer the domain, and continue with the custom email that you have set up.

  Here’s some information to get you started:

  1. map it: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
  2. transfer: https://en.support.wordpress.com/incoming-domain-transfer/prepare-domain-for-transfer/
  3. email: https://en.support.wordpress.com/add-email/

  Take a look through that information and then write back to me here with any follow up questions.

  A note about domain transfers – it will have to have been registered at least 60 days before you can transfer it. That’s an ICANN regulation. I can confirm it’s eligibility if you share it here with me.
