I’m trying to use a domain name that I purchased from namecheap for my my wordpress site without the .wordpress showing up in the name.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

WordPress.com does not accept incoming domain transfers. You can, however, map an existing domain, that you purchased elsewhere.
In order to remove the .wordpress.com URL and replace that with a domain URL you have to purchase an upgrade. See https://wordpress.com/pricing/

What domain mapping does is providing a seamless redirect to the very same content under the new domain URL when a person clicks the old URL to the original content.
Note that each upgrade bundle applies to a single blog only and is for a single year only when it is due to be renewed.

You must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard and purchase upgrades at > Dashboard> Store > My Upgrades

WordPress.com provides a 30-day refund on all upgrades except Domain Registrations, Domain Renewals, and Guided Transfers. The refund period for Domain Registrations and Renewals is 48 hours.

Hi @lwfoodconsulting, you can map it. Head to https://wordpress.com/domains , enter the name there, and choose to map it. Then log into namecheap and change the settings to point it here. Give it a few hours after that, and you’ll be set.
