Using a deleted account’s username.

  If I delete my WordPress account, does my username become available for a new account to use it? Or does this username get reserved forever, even though the account it was attached to was deleted forever?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  I am also needing help with this I started a new blog because I had forgotten about my old one and so I closed the new account over 2 months ago and am trying to switch the username from the new account to the old account and it keeps telling me the username is already taken even though the new account has been closed for a while now.

  So I would venture to guess that maybe you cannot use a username if it has already been used before even if that account is now closed.

  That’s correct. Usernames aren’t recycled, so once deleted can’t be reused. (If deleted in error though staff can recover them within 30 days of deletion).
