using a domain i already own

    i would like to use a domain i already own. the only instructions i’ve found are confusing me. i don’t understand the difference between DNS and DNS Records – which seems to have a crucial impact on what i choose to do. I also am confused by if and or what email should/could be used. i can explain this further if requested.

    In order to use a domain you purchased elsewhere here at WordPress.com, you would need to upgrade to one of our paid plans. Each plan will allow you to use that domain for free using the domain connection option.

    Still, each one offers different benefits like priority email support (all plan levels), advanced customization options (Premium and above), live chat support (Premium and above), and more. Review each plan’s features and choose the one that will best suit your needs.
