Using a domain name web hosting

  If I transfer my blog to my own domain name and web hosting site…What are the advantages and will I have more freedom and control over the blog?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  You’ll have more freedom and control.

  You’ll be entirely responsible for all tech support for the blog, including preventing hacks, making sure themes and WP versions are up to date, etc.

  If you just want to blog, you’re better off here. If you need javascript and flash and iframes, you’re better off getting hosting. If SEO is your primary concern, you’re probably better off here.

  Remember, with the Domain Mapping upgrade, you can use a custom domain while keeping your blog here; then when you move it, the links and the name move with you.
