Using an image to sell my book

I just did a whole lot of updating to my blog site. I was going to use a new theme, Independent Publisher; however, I ran into a problem. So, I switched back to Collinear.

For one, I’ve recently published my first book. :) It’s available on Amazon. Guess what I have to use to help with book sales? My blog. I’ve already created an Author page, for it.

Here’s my question. If you look at my blog site, Inspiration Point then you’ll see that I’m using the image of my book cover as a hyperlink to my book on Amazon. Is this the right way?

To make it easier, I included a caption. Should I change the setup? Why did I go back to this theme? For some reason, the Image widget was not being handled correctly. There was no caption or widget title. Yet, it works fine with Collinear.

I’d also like to do some book reviews and create a list of recommended books. Would it be best done in a blog article? Can I do something like I did for my book?

I’d appreciate some feedback on these two questions. Thank you for your time.

Am I guessing correctly? There is no problem with my current setup? As for other people’s book; I will leave that for book reviews and use the text only option.

    Hi barryb64,

I checked out your site and I don’t see anything wrong with the way you set it up. The link works fine and does what you need it to do. As far as the book reviews go, that is up to you how you do it but I think a blog post(s) would be fine. You could also create a new page on your blog that is dedicated to your recommended reading list. Then you link to that page whenever you like. You could link to it from your home page or wherever. There are a lot of different ways to do things and what works best for you is what you should go with!

    Have a wonderful day! :-)
