Using an installed theme in a WordPress free plan

I have a great theme which I already purchased. I want to use it on a WordPress free plan but when I click install theme it says I need to buy the $300 business plan. Is this correct? And if so why? I am not operating a business.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

That is because uploading third-party themes or plugins are features of plan Business and you won’t be able to use those on a free site.
