Using an old username (recently changed) for a new site…
-
Hi, I have just changed my username successfully for my only existing WP site.
The original username I would like for my new site that I am about to create. But when I try to register the said username, it says it’s already taken. But It shouldn’t be as I just changed from that username to a new one.
Is there a time lapse before a username I once used becomes available again for my second site?
Thanks

Hi there,
When you changed your username there were multiple warnings stating that you will not be able to change it back and the old username will not be available for you or anyone to use. Therefore, it’s not possible to register that username anymore.
If you want to create a second site, you can do it with the same username. WordPress.com users can have unlimited sites under their accounts.
If you have any other questions, just let me know and I’ll be happy to help.

Oh thanks
That is strange, because honestly I did not see any warning signs. I just went into my account profile or settings – whichever it was and then selected save changes. No warnings
Unless I am blind.
Anyway, thanks for your reply.
