Using and Customizing a Theme on WordPress
-
Hello,
I have a free WordPress website and I’m trying to apply a blog theme (Rebalance) to it. However, every time I try to edit my homepage through the admin dashboard, Rebalance isn’t showing up (instead, the default “Welcome to Your Site” template popped up).
I’m a complete newbie to WordPress and would appreciate some help. Thanks!

Howdy there! Would you be able to copy and paste the link to your site?
In the meantime, here is a support page with a ton of information about themes: https://wordpress.com/support/themes/
Trust me, we’re all always learning something new about WordPress.com so we’ll help you in whatever way we can! Remember to go to Appearance -> Customizer to play around with the main settings for the look of your site.

Hi there,
I can see Rebalance active on your site. Keep in mind that enabling a theme only activates the design. It does nothing to the actual content.
If you want your site to look like the Rebalance demo site, you’ll need to set it up that way – specifically in this case, you need to change the homepage settings so the site’s front page shows your latest posts, instead of a static homepage like it currently has. You do that from the Customizer at Appearance ->Customize ->Homepage settings.
You can find detailed instructions on how this theme works and how to set it up here:
