Using another site to upload music…. page now just buffers.

I have 8 tracks of about 3 minutes each on one page in my blog, using another site to host the media. So I am using the “[audio http://blahblah” code to get audio to play on the blog. However, it is just buffering over and over. At first I thought it was the hoster of the music, but then I thought it is probably the blog itself… is there a history of the blog not being able to handle 8 different songs on one page? If I actually purchased extra space, would that fix this problem?

maybe it has something to do with the size? there is a question mark on the visual editor; while you’re using the media function hit that question mark and see if it gives you more data specific to the media you’re using.

i dont see the question mark, but that whole media function isnt even what i’m using. I did just try it though, problem is it just gives a link to the media, it doesn’t play it in the post, which isn’t the greatest. But if that is what I have to do, then I will.

Not necessarily. You see the way the link you posted above is clickable? Go to edit your post and make sure that none of your audio MP3 URLs are clickable. If they ARE, then that sort of overrides the audio player coding and they just buffer forever. You just need to put your cursor on them and break the link with the broken link icon. Does that make sense? Try it and let us know what happens.

    I just tested…

If you click on the links, they play. However, the link to the same exact file, that is supposed to play on the blog, doesn’t work.

Ok, well when i unlinked the top three clickable links, it took the URLs away from them so it was just text. And the bottom one, the embedded audio player, what I want, is just buffering.

appears this was never fixed – https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic.php?id=18736&replies=23

and i used a webtown link and it still didn’t want to work.

If all fails, what widgets will allow me to add my own music easily, and embed it in a post or a page ( i don’t want it in the sidebar)

if they are mp3 files that question mark (which is a help button) should mention breaking up the file into two parts, due to their size.

the ‘add media’ bar is just above the other editors, in grey

I don’t see that question mark anywhere. With this new dasbboard, I see add media and add music nad add video, all little icons, but never anywhere a help button. There is a help link in the the top top right. But i have already looked up uploading music there and it says nothing about size.

I think you misunderstood me. You’re only supposed to Unlink the MP3 URLs within the audio player, not links you actually want clickable on your blog.

If you want, you can use the Odeo Podcast platform to embed music in your blog.

    Using Odeo

yea i tried that too, and when I did, it didn’t show any difference in the code.. but i did it. Then tried, still didn’t work. Then tried again, it appears as if it isn’t saving me “breaking” the link.

can i upload stuff to odeo? I see nothing that allows me to, but maybe I am wrong.

    man this is annoying.

Please don’t post emotions to the forum. Believe me, I’m NO GOOD at helping with those.

Yes, you can upload to Odeo if you’ve got a Studio Odeo account.
