Using both alphabetical and hierarchical category widgets

  Occasionally I get the idea to put two dropdown category widgets in my sidebar — one showing the category hierarchy and one showing the alphabetized categories. However, when I do this, the links work only in the first widget; the links in the second do not. I’ve tried rearranging the widgets; apparently the first will always work as intended and the second will not. Is it intended that only one category widget can be used (even though it’s possible to put two in the sidebar)?

  I can, of course, configure my custom menu to show the hierarchy (although it is extensive) and use one category widget to show the alphabetical list. But two widgets would certainly be an easier solution.

  Yes. It’s a puzzling feature.
