Using certain theme for wordpress.com site?

I found a theme I wish to use for my wordpress.com site. It’s “Simple Mag” and it says it’s a wordpress theme. My question is once I purchase this theme can and how do I install it on my site? Can I use it for a wordpress.com site or only for wordpress.org? I don’t know the difference.

You cannot upload any third party themes into a WordPress.COM hosted blog so be clear on that. The only themes we can use on WordPress.com blogs are licensed and adapted to run on our multiuser software are the themes that are found here http://wordpress.com/themes/

WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support forums. http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
WordPress.org offers free software that you can install on a web server. You can create themes, upload and install themes and plugins, run ads, and edit the database, etc. If you want FTP access and to install plugins or third party themes into a site then you will have to hire a web host http://wordpress.org/hosting/ and set up your own WordPress.org install
