Using custom header and content slider in Widely theme

  • Unknown's avatar

I would like to use both a custom header and the content slider in Widely theme. But it seems at though you can’t do both. Am I wrong? Is it possible with the CSS upgrade? If so, what is the code to make the change? Also, does CSS allow you to add custom social buttons? Can they be put at the top of the page? Thank you.

    Hi there,

We actually have a forum specifically for specific questions such as yours regarding CSS coding and what the limitations are. You can go here:

    https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/css-customization

And can review the questions which have already been asked and if you don’t find your answer ask them yourself! The talented volunteers and staff members who work that forum should be able to answer you!

Is this a computer generated response? I only mentioned CSS as an option. But I did go ahead and check the forum and didn’t see an answer there either. Is possible to just inform me of whether or not I can use the custom header and the content slider? Oh and the blog I need help with is methenmommy.com. Thank you.

    Hi there,

I apologize! I had originally included a couple of sentences about your original question, but I must have somehow deleted them when drafting the rest of my response.

No, in the theme which you’ve chosen, you cannot have both a header image and a featured slider. I went and verified this with a test installation of my own. The featured slider occupies the same space as the header image and so cancels it out.

Again, I apologize for the incomplete original answer!

Great, that’s what I needed to know. One more question–is there anyway to make the slider in the twenty eleven theme automatically advance? Thanks!

    Hi there,

There is not an auto-advance setting for the slider, no.

Let me know if you have any other questions!
