Using custom HTML to embed something

  I have tried to embed a couple of different things using HTML code. The first time it was an Animoto video. The second time it was a Nearpod lesson. Both time I was able to copy the embed code and it looked like it was working when I still had the screen in edit mode. I hit update to save my changes. But when I went to Preview mode, nothing was there. I didn’t get any kind of error message. It just didn’t work.

  Am I not able to use the embed code in a free account? If that isn’t it, then what am I doing wrong?

  It’s not possible to use the embed code on a free wordpress.com website.

  Hi there,

  We only support embeds from a number of approved services who use the oEmbed protocol (where you embed content by just pasting in a link).

  HTML embeds use either iframe or script code, both of which are not allowed on WordPress.com for security reasons.
