Using data from an existing website in a WordPress blog
-
Hi,
I have an existing website, about 5 years old. I am thinking about closing it down and just using my WordPress blog from now on.
Is there any way I can use any of the data/pages from my existing website and transfer it to my WordPress blog.
The website cost me $2,000 to have built and I don’t really want to just lose everything. I would love to be able the whole site, but I don’t think that is possible.
The site is a Shopify website. Thanks, Mickmac
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

We don’t do e-commerce here so you probably want to think of a WordPress.ORG install.

You might also review the TOS before you get too far along:

Hi auxclass,
Thanks for the response.
I looked at the links and saw under “Types of Blogs” Business blogs, what is the difference between e-commerce and business blogs ?Thanks, Mickmac

e-commerce blogs sell things which the blogger him/herself does not make. Business blogs are blogs by professionals who write about things specific to their industry, like a dentist blogging about why X tooth-whitening procedure is risky/innovative/whatever.

The host you referenced is an affiliate type catalog site so that is why I referenced the TOS. I am not the staff but I think your site would be suspended quickly if it is a catalog site as indicated by the referenced host.

I think I will delete it myself, not only is it hard to use but I don’t think it is as Google friendly as some think.
