using flash in header

  Hi,

  I am newbee to both blogging and this forum.
  I have installed wordpress on my hosts server and have been looking at the components that make up a blog using a free theme i downloaded from wordpress.

  What i am interested in doing is adding a flash movie in the header of my blog, rather than using a static image. I am familiar with flash so i am comfortable creating the movie, however i am not sure where i would add the code in the blog php template files.

  I know flash can be used in a header. I have seen it in several places. I want to know where in the template files i manipulate the code.

  This is wordpress.com multiuser support for blogs hosted by wordpress. If you have a web hosted blog then you are in the wrong forum. We run of different software here. Please go to http://wordpress.org/support

  This is a guess, but try the wp-blog-header.php script. To my thinking the main blog will call on all the component scripts which make up the content….I’m guessing this will be the one for the header.

  Actually that file puts out a HTML header so that the browser knows that it’s looking at, not a blog header made out of php.

  You need to be looking at the themes header.php file.

  But you do need to be at the other site as TT mentions.
