using "get_archives_" for two different feeds

  I am using “?php wp_get_archives” to feed latest news onto the homepage at http://www.iwannamakethattoo.co.uk/, but I want to have another feed from another category of posts (upcoming dates). Is it possible to adapt the get_archives code so that it gets posts from different categories.
