Using google analytics and where to place the tracking ID

Hi. I am starting to use Google analytics. I am not sure if I need it because I can see the stats from ‘my stats’ in wordpress, but someone has said it is a good idea for me to have it. So, I have a google analytics account now and they are asking me to copy and paste some tracking code into each every page of my site. Now where on earth would I put it? I’m a novice at this! Many thanks for your help. Sofia

WordPress.com does not currently support Google Analytics tracking. However, we do offer built-in statistics showing you most of the same types of information as Google Analytics would display.

You can view your site’s stats by clicking the stats link in the grey admin bar at the top of your site. To find out more about how stats are measured and reported, see the following help page:

    Jetpack Stats

You can also install Google Webmaster Tools, which contains some of the same functions as Google Analytics:

Please let us know if we can help you with anything else.
