Using Google Documents to Insert Audio

I have been using Google Documents to store my recordings for my WordPress posts. I have an .mp3 for almost every post and have been doing so for many years. I get the code from GD and paste into WordPress. A little black player is created and my readers need only click and can listen to me right from the post.

Several days ago I noticed the little black player was still in the post BUT there was no button to click to start the recording. However on the right hand side of the black player there was something to click (this something had always been there) and it would lead the readers to another tab of Google Documents where they they could then listen.

This to me was very inconvenient to the readers as they would have to go back to the other tab to follow along with the text. It may not seem like a big thing to do for a faithful follower. But even faithful followers can be fickle.

I went to my Google Docs and thought maybe something had changed there. I recopied the code and reentered it into my posts. Nothing changed. The code was the same.

Every post of mine that has a recording is now unplayable except by clicking and bringing up another tab.

I hope I have explained this problem sufficiently and that it can be corrected by help from WordPress. Upgrading my WordPress subscription is not an option nor is uploading all my audios to another host and editing every post.

    Thank you for your help.

There is a known issue with embedding from Google Drive due to a (mis)configuration by Google. WordPress.com can’t solve this problem, you just have to wait untill Google solves this problem.
