Using Houzz embed code – not currently working

Hello there. From time to time I use the embed feature offered on Houzz ideabooks and stories to post content to the blog I manage. Houzz provides wordpress specific code and it usually works beautifully, publishing a slideshow on our blog with a link to the article on Houzz. Today, the code is not working. The link shows up, but the slide show area is blank.
I have tried various sizes for the slide show, the alternate code Houzz provides for other sites, and I have pasted the wordpress code from several Houzz articles in my blog post drafts, just in case there was a problem with the specific ideabook I was trying to share. All returned the same results. Here’s an example of the wordpress embed code from Houzz: [houzz=http://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/39488313/list/how-to-tap-your-hall-closets-storage-potential w=480] Any suggestions on how to get the slideshow to display?

Hello tommartinandsonllc – I still cannot add Houzz slide shows to Mercer Island Pulse. The slide show you saw was published before this problem cropped up. I just tried to post a Valentine’s Day slideshow from Houzz, but the preview only contains a link. I am using the code Houzz provides to embed slide shows on WordPress blogs. Here’s the code for the slide show I want to post and just tried to: [houzz=http://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/44076577/list/easy-valentines-day-touches-for-even-the-least-romantic w=480] I hope someone from WordPress will address this question.

I’m a newbie here… is the “new” editor you’re referring to for publishing posts only? I see an option to “switch to the improved posting experience” when creating a post. However, our site is more of a website and not a blog, so I’m trying to embed the houzz slideshow directly on a page, rather than adding it to a post. I did test it, though, by switching to the improved posting experience and then pasted in the code provided by Houzz on a post, and it still didn’t work for me. :-/ What am I missing??

I was able to get to the new editor site dashboard once I switched to the new editor in the posting dashboard. I did that by clicking My sites and it brought me to the site dashboard for Mercer Island Pulse. I picked the add button next to page (left hand sidebar in the new editor site dashboard). In the page dashboard I posted a test Houzz slideshow embed code and then looked at the preview – it worked!I hope this helps!!
