Using HTML from Website for Blog Page – not WP theme
-
Trying to use my template from my website, connected to my blog so it all looks the same without having to re-invent the wheel. Found some documentation here, but I am not a developer. Have setup the BLOG link to the WP blog in my HTML page and it all works, but is not the same style, and looks nothing like the rest of the site. Very new to this…obviously. Just need a step by step process. Any help out there would be MUCH appreciated.

Hi there!
Can you let us know what the URL is of the site where you’re having this problem? Once we have that information, we’ll be better able to advise.
Thank you!

Of course!

The index page has the “BLOG” link active and goes to WP link.
Thanks!

Your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted with MediaTemple.
Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers. You can find more information here about the differences between WordPress.org software and WordPress.com: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/
https://wordpress.org/support/ is a great resource for sites using the open source WordPress.org software, and you can find support for that at: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
Your hosting provider’s support team may also be able to assist.

Thanks for this. It’s been an education. Just last thing…not asking for support, but…can’t what I’m trying to do, be done? I will move forward with what you gave me.
Thanks again,
Chris

It’s likely possible, but WordPress.com and WordPress.org are in many ways very different, so we cannot comment in any specific confirmation regarding that.
