Using HTML tags.
-
i tried to upload a post today. i typed the whole thing up with html tags in MS Word. but, when i published by copying and pasting it to WP, the posted text included the html stuff and nothing was a link. now, i have reviewed some stuff and i want to make sure i understand this. i have to set the links up here when I post or they will not work? and this is true even though when i use the editor here, the same html code appears on the screen? and, finally, this is true for all html tags? is all that correct?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

oh. i just found my answer in another thread. i write over time, and post later by copy paste. the editor i have is MS Word, which works fine everywhere else. i do not have time to edit everything twice in order to post here. i was really looking forward to being able to show these on a couple of sites that link back to WP. but this isn’t worth it. without finding another way to do this with what i have right now, in all likelihood i will be deleting my blog here later today. you guys have made blogging here too much work.

hmm…maybe i won’t have to delete. can i continually import from Blogger? in other words, can i post there every time, and then import it here? or will that confuse your systems with trying to import all the older posts again?

WordPress recently made a change and now automatically strips out all code from text that is pasted from MS Word. Mtdewvirus (staff) explains why here: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/paste-from-word-icon-is-not-working?replies=8#post-336510
What people have to keep in mind, is that Word is NOT an HTML editor it is a word proccessor meant for print media, and although the codes that Word uses for various types of formatting are similar to HTML, they are different in key respects and those cause issues here at WordPress.COM – and for anywhere on the web for that matter. Even if you save the document as “HTML” Word creates the most horrendous code I have seen in nearly 15 years of working on the web.

BTW, your blogspot blog, http://www.wednesdaysmuse.blogspot.com/ , has 570 errors on the main page alone according to the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) validator: http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.wednesdaysmuse.blogspot.com%2F&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0
