Using "!important"
-
I’m overriding some CSS rules in an existing theme – some of those rules use “!important”. When I add my own rule in the custom CSS editor and add “!important”, the space (between the rule and “!important”) is removed when I save it, so that the rule comes out as “padding:0!important;” – which isn’t recognized by browsers. I need to use “!important” to override the current rule – thanks for any help.

All CSS editing here is theme specific. Will you please post an active link starting with http:// to the blog you purchased the custom design upgrade for?

Could you let me know which browser you were testing where “padding:0!important;” didn’t work? I’d like to check it out.

I was using FF on Mac – it didn’t work at first, and inspecting with Firebug didn’t show the rule, but now it seems fine, without my having made any other changes. So not sure if it was something on my end or not.

It has always worked for me without a space, so if you see a problem again, please let me know!
