Using link button when creating post
-
My original question about using the highlight of a word and then the link button has not been resolved for me, even though the question was marked resolved. I am still having trouble as of sept. 6 at 9:00 am.
When I highlight, click on link, complete the text box and click on update I am immediately taken back to my dashboard and the link does not occur. This is in a post being created. I am very frustrated. I use IE as high as possible for XP. I work in a situation where I cannot change to firefox or some other browser.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I am having trouble with adding links too, for the past several days. When I use the link button and hit “update” a box comes up asking me if I am sure I want to navigate away from this page. The only way I can successfully add a link is by doing it in HTML code.

I too am having this same issue. Also my previous posts are not even showing in the Link to Existing Content box as well.
Started for me almost 2 weeks ago and have been manually adding links via HTML.

I wish I new how to add links in HTML, I am getting the same popup window asking me if I want to navigate away from the page. :-( I can’t add links at all.

You are not alone. Staff is working to resolve this issue. You may want to try the workarounds that have worked for others. You will find them by searching the threads at this link > https://en.forums.wordpress.com/tags/can039t-add-links
