Using links to toggle between child pages??
-
So here’s the deal:
I have a parent page in the top bar. When you click that, I want to have a list of hyperlinks (currently 35) and each of them goes to a NEW, fresh page with information inside WordPress.
The ‘child page’ function doesn’t work for my use. First, because they’re displayed in the rolldown menu (doesn’t look good with 35 items in a rolldown menu!) and second, because the number of child pages I need will only get bigger.
So isn’t there a way to use hyperlinks to ‘create new pages’ within WordPress that doesn’t require making child pages?
(let me know if you need pictures to illustrate).

Create a main page and create sub-pages.
https://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/
Then edit the main page enter the links to the sub-pages pages you created on the main page.Anchor text is the visible, clickable text in a hyperlink. Relevant anchor text matters because it tells search engines and visitors what the page is about before they land on it.
See here https://en.support.wordpress.com/links/
For embedding links in post and pages this is the general link model:
<a href="URL HERE">Highlighted anchor text here</a>This is the visual result – it’s not actually linked here in the forum.
Highlighted anchor text here1. In the Visual editor type the relevant descriptive anchor text you want to link to first. Note that “click here” is not a good choice. ;)
2. Then use your mouse to highlight that anchor text. (If you don’t highlight the anchor text the chain icon will remain grayed out and not be useable.)
3. Next click the chain icon in the editor and proceed to create the link.
Then you can create a custom menu https://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/#1-create-a-custom-menu and add the main page into it. https://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/view-all/#adding-pages

IMPORTANT NOTE: You did not provide the URL for the site in question and we require that. Know clearly that what I posted above applies to blogs hosted by wordpress.COM, as they are the only sites we provide support for here.

Sorry, my site is http://celluloidtunes.no. The relevant parent page can be found at the top bar under “Spillelister/playlists”. For the moment, I’m putting in all the text in that one page, but ideally I would like each link to go to a separate page with the listings.
Thanks for the suggestions. I’m not a computer expert, but I’ll try to decipher it! :)

This is the wordpress.COM support forum. We provide support only for WordPress.COM hosted blogs, and that site is not hosted here. You are posting to the wrong support forum.
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.
