using my domain name to direct business their way
-
I have a question about sites like this: http://webworkerdaily.com/, who link to my site and then mention nothing about my blog once you get to their site. In essence, they are using my domain name with out my permission to promote their business and increase their visiblity. I believe I am being exploited through this mechanism. How can I stop sure sites as Worker Daily from using my domain name to increase traffic to their site???

Where are they linking to you within their site? I don’t see it right off.
And how is them linking to your site directing traffic in their way? I would think they would be trying to send traffic your way.
Look at it this way -> If I gave you ten bucks, would you complain?
How about this -> All those decals on the side of NASCAR cars.
I hand a homeless man a cup of coffee. Does he kick me in the teeth? (Well one tried once)
That site gave you a link to yours. I think you should be thankful.
Domain names, while can be held as trademarks, can be used by the public. For example, do you identify a car as a Ford or Toyoto? Those are trademarks.
I think you’re overreacting. If you still have an issue, why not contact the site and ask them politely to remove the link. That would probably be best. Your other choice is to delete your blog and get off the internet. To be honest, I would love such a link.

Dr. Mike,
I am still learning about this world of the bloggosphere. What got my interest up to check on Worker daily is that they show up in my referrer section each day. I may be ignorant but do I need to be concerned as I generally only get 1 from them a day, thereby linking to my site???????? Thanks for your patience with me as I learn.Referrer Views

These links (certainly the webworkerdaily) are because someone has clicked through to your blog following a comment on theirs.
They aren’t “linking” to your site, what’s happening is that you have left a comment somewhere (WWD for example). Someone has clicked your username to look at your blog. That’s what a referrer is.
Nothing to worry about. :)
