using my domain name to sign up for a wordpress site
-
if I use my .com address to sign up for a wordpress.com site, will my dot com address be replaced by the my.com.wordpress site or am I adding a new site?
I do not want my original name server redirected.there is no mention of what will happen when you sign up
I want to keep my .com site and my .com/blog (wordpress.org) and add to that a new my.com.wordpress.com sitehow do I do this?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I have the same problem. It tells me my desired domain name is reserved, but I am the one who reserved it. Right now it reads
elizafrankdotcom.wordpress.com
and I want it to read elizafrank.com
I’ve paid for elizafrank.com.

sorry me be a bit confused – but if you have a domain name “name.com” you can register a WordPress.COM blog “name.wordpress.com” if the name has not yet been registered
register the blog but watch the spelling – sometimes folks end up with “namedotcom.wordpress.com”
just strip the extension from your custom domain name to make things look nicer
any help?

@somuchsomanysofew – you don’t have the same problem as the OP and hijacking threads is rude and hurts you getting help
http://elizafrank.com/ – has been registered since 2007 – is that you? It is mapped to a Blogger blog – if you have the registration just change the name servers –
elizafrank.com/ – is mapped to a blog here – but just buying the domain mapping will not change the blog name people see when they visit your blog unless the domain name is also owned by you and set to work here
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
if you don’t own elizafrank.com – then cancel the domain mapping while you work out a good domain name to register

I just gave you some help above – please sort it out – and next time please open a new thread – dual subjects really confuse those that help in the forum
