Using My Private Domain
-
I have a private domain. It is pointed to my WordPress Blog address successfully. My problem is that the dashboard for the site to which my domain points is not “live”. I have to go to the old site at ….wordpress.com to access a “live” dashboard. Surely, this isn’t proper. Can someone help? I have tried to contact the “office” about this but all those “happiness engineers” are off getting happy.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

What is the private custom domain name you have the question about?
Did you map the domain name to your blog here?
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
If you have my-name.com mapped to my-name.wordpress.com you will always add content and edit the site at my-name.wordpress.com – the original Dashboard – your visitors will see my-name.com
That is the way domain mapping works

I have just now tried three times to ask exactly the same question – but instead of my question appearing, it says ‘this topic has been closed. I don’t know what I did wrong.
So, thanks for the question and the reply. I now understand why I did not have access to the new .org name, but still have access to the old wordpress.com name. I can’t see any advice about this in the Support pages.
