Using Old Photos
-
Hi,
I’ve uploaded a few older pics but when I add them to my gallery the sizing is HUGE! I’ve tried resizing, it says it’s saved but still displays it oversized. How can I crop them down to the right dimensions??The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

When you say the photos are being displayed oversized, is that when you place them in a post/page, or when you are previewing them in the media library?
In the media library, there’s a way to re-size/edit images. Here’s some info about that:
-
They’re displayed oversized in the post/gallery. I did already scale them down as the tutorial shows but it doesn’t shrink on the post. It says it’s scaled down but stays the original size.

Do you mean http://aislehair.wordpress.com/wedding-gallery because I’m not seeing that. Honestly, I see a beautifully proportioned gallery of professional photos. What browser and version are you using to look at them?
-
Awe thanks. I deleted the pics that aren’t shrinking. I don’t want to display them if they’re going to be so huge.
-
Resize them using a graphics program before uploading then. It’ll save a lot of space in the long run.
PS I’m pretty critical, so when I say nice things they should count double.

I just got a new computer, no graphics program:( Any other tips?
I also re-read “beautifully PROPORTIONED gallery”, lol I thought I was being complimented on my work. My friend did all the great techy work for me;) http://www.lathamcommunications.com if you’re interested:)

You will find that images you re-size after uploading into your WordPress.com blog lose some color and sharpness. If you want better image quality use an image editing application to re-size copies of your images to the specific dimensions required then upload and insert those copies.
Prior to uploading any image into your blog, regardless if it’s a header image, a featured image, an image in a post or page, in a Post format (Gallery or Image), an image for sidebar display in an image widget or a text widget, you can optimize and re-size it in either a desktop image editing software or online image editing software to fit the space you intend to use it in. http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2012/03/26/cropper-or-proper-image-preparation-2/
