using openstreetmaps maps
-
I am trying to use openstreetmaps maps on my WP blog. But the instructions in the readme do not seem to work. Suggestions?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello,
Do you have link to that readme file?
Apparently support for OpenStreetMap had been put on the list of ideas for future consideration. See previous discussion: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/still-no-support-for-openstreetmap?replies=8#post-1885570
I haven’t been able to find any updates, so maybe a WP staff or someone more knowledgeable on the topic could chime in?

Hi there,
Currently, we haven’t had requests since then, but I have added your request just now.
Cheers!

Thanks to both of you.

On the above link I downloaded osm.zip and the readme is in there. I can email it to you, but it is probably rude to paste it here. My email is

Hi Dave,
I believe there is some misunderstanding here. That plugin page is for WordPress.org. To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities. At WordPress.com, we provide hosting, support, and tons of features for blogs. Users also have the option to purchase a variety of upgrades to customize the look and feel of their blog. WordPress.org is a software for self-hosted sites. With WordPress.org, users are provided access to all backend files and can upload custom themes and plugins.
Check here to learn more about the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org:
If you want to move there to use this plugin, let me know and I’d be more than happy to provide you instructions on doing this.

Thanks. My mistake. I thought that the .org was like a Forum of WP.com folks.
I do not want to move. “Focus on your beautiful content, and let us handle the rest.” sounds good to me.
Dave
