Using portfolio (rather than blog posts) for a static home page

How can I setup my home page to show portfolio projects in Orvis (theme) rather than blog posts. Though I’m setting up to use a static home page, (choosing a page I’ve built), it keeps saying ‘front page is showing’ blog posts. I have setup several portfolio projects, but when I go to view site it says ‘Nothing Found’. Getting frustrated because I feel I’ve tried everything (including tutorials) but nothing is working — maybe it’s a simple box that I haven’t checked (?)

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi!

This might seem about as easy as checking a checkbox, but a little less obvious. Have you tried typing [portfolio] in the body of your homepage?

More information on portfolios is available here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/portfolios/

    Best,

  • HI there,

Go to My Site ->Cusomize. Click the gear icon next to the button that says Draft Saved, and select the Publish option. Then click the button that now reads Publish.

That will make the changes you made in the Customizer to set a static front page, live on your site.

Please check the theme’s documentation. This theme has a portfolio page template that’s specifically designed to display portfolio projects, and the OP is already using that template on the page they’re trying to set as the front page.
