Using PressRow, but going to Thesis Theme – wondering about upgrades
-
I am using PressRow theme for a client and plan to change it to the new Thesis theme. We also want to purchase the CSS upgrade and 25G of space.
Do I purchase the CSS upgrade and 25 Gig of space AFTER I switch client’s blog to Thesis? Or does it matter?
-
Do it after you switch themes. In fact, I wouldn’t buy the CSS upgrade until you’ve worked on the new theme and got the CSS the way you want it in the Preview. The upgrade doesn’t allow you to just paste in themes from elsewhere; the CSS has to be custom-tweaked, and each theme will be different. So practice on teh free preview and then when it’s ready buy the upgrade.

Thanks Raincoaster. Will do.
Vivianpaige, here’s the new theme (you have to buy it): http://diythemes.com/thesis

Oh, so you’re not hosted here. FYI – we use different software here so our answers may not work for you. You’ll want to head over to http://wordpress.org/support

If the blog you are talking about is hosted here at wordpress.com (http://blogname.wordpress.com) then you will not be able to upload a theme. We are limited to the themes under design > themes in the dashboard.
If you have CSS experience, then the sandbox theme is wide open and people have done some pretty amazing things with it.

All,
I saw this on Twitter: Check out Thesis Theme for WordPress — looks really cool: http://diythemes.com/thesis/
So this theme cannot not be used within WordPress at all?
Please clarify – thanks for your patience.

It can be used on self-hosted blogs using the software downloaded from wordpress.org, but not on the free-hosting service, wordpress.com.
