Using social media

  Hi I am interested in using social media such as yahoo,reddit and stumble upon as a way of getting more traffic to my blog. It is not that I am doing badly it is that I am covering the same areas rather than new ones and feel that it is always good to be looking for new avenues.

  Have others found that using all or any of these have helped with traffic numbers etc?

  I would be interested in both the good and the bad….

  I meant to say using the sharing button on here, has anybody used it as a way of accessing these sites?

  Twitter gets me the most traffic out of all the social networks.

  Yes, the sharing buttons on my blogs are being used by my readers. Social networking tremendously expands the audience you can connect with. At the end of the day, if you do not use social media and social networks to promote your blog posts and blog, then you will find building a growing readership is more difficult as the audience you reach will be limited.

  I have a facebook group. Does anyone know the way to connect the post directly to the facebook group?

  It can’t be done automatically with WP.com. What you can do is import your blog using Notes or Networked Blogs or the WordPress FB app, if you want to do it automatically.

  Thanks Guys for the replies.

  I have been pleased with how my blog has gone but am now looking for some green/new pastures as well.

  I have connected with Yahoo to see how that goes. But what happens then does it just go to friends of mine or is there a way of accessing it on Yahoo for Yahoo members?

  I have the same question with reddit and stumbleupon. If I share with them what then happens and apologies for the ignorance.
