Using Tags On Pages
-
Hi guys
I’d like to be able to use tags on pages using the Twenty Fourteen theme. A post tagged ‘Featured’ actually features it on the front page with a custom image – Ideally I’d like to be able to do this with a page as I’ve already created some pages to use like this. It’s a wordpress.com hosted blog which means I cannot use plugins (right?) so I’ve got a feeling I already know the answer but is this possible?
Any help would be appreciated.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Tags are for posts, not pages. And not depend on the theme you use.

Also, please be clear on the difference between Posts and Pages.

Hi guys
Thanks for the replies. I know the difference between the two and I also know how to make a static first page. But please see the demo of the theme I’m using:

If you tag a post with the tag ‘Featured’ then it shows across the top with a slider image. That’s what I want my pages to do – as I’ve already created them. If I could tag them it would solve my issues. Otherwise I’ll have to do a workaround by copying my pages to posts and having them out of order.
Hope that makes a little more sense.

You can’t use tags on Pages, the tags are for Posts. And the slider is for posts too, not pages.
That’s it.
