so i deleted my site before going live because i was just learning wordpress. i didn’t realise that there was another option. i made another site but the orginial site name/address i wanted (lukehealart.wordpress.com) is still reserved…i doubt it is actually in use….is there a way to bump the system to free up that domain again so i can choose it? I don’t want my domain to have a number in it.

  • Hi,

I’ve already restored your deleted site: https://lukehealart.wordpress.com/ and you can use it again.

I can see that you have a custom domain attached to lukeheal0.wordpress.com. If you’d like to move that domain to lukehealart.wordpress.com, please let us know.

I’ve also noticed that you don’t have any plans. With our plans, your site could benefit from a lot of new features, such as:

    – Setting the domain lukeheal.art as the primary domain of your site
    – The usage of Premium plans
    – Earning money with WordAds
    – Having access to our live chat support
    – The usage of plugins

Here is info on the different plans:

hi thanks for that. i can see lukehealart.wordpress.com now in the admin, and i’ve updated it with the content i want, but when i try to preview it before going live i see this message :”lukehealart.wordpress.com is no longer available.”

so now i’m stuck as i can’t go live until i check it looks ok but i can’t see it..

is there a way to allow me to see the site before going live..?

  • Hello,

I’m not sure where you are seeing that. Can you share the URL of the page you are on, and what you are clicking on to preview? If you can share a screenshot that will also help.

I can confirm that https://lukehealart.wordpress.com/ is currently under your account (and should be available) so we’re happy to take a closer look. Thanks!

    https://wordpress.com/view/lukehealart.wordpress.com > visit site >

“lukehealart.wordpress.com is no longer available. The authors have deleted this site.” (tried ctrl f5)

What i wanted wasn’t for lukehealart.wordpress.com to be reactivated with my old content. I want to use the lukehealart.wordpress address for the content at lukeheal0 (with forwarding from lukeheal.art). The lukeheal0 content is the content i want to go live with.

I tried import export and manually copying and couldn’t make it work. Do you have a way to use the lukehealart.wordpress site address but the content from lukeheal0.wordpress?

    thanks

ok never mind i managed to manually copy over all my content to lukehealart.wordpress.com.

i set the domain lukeheal.art to forward to lukehealart.wordpress.com. it hasn’t kicked in yet- still forwarding to the old domain. assume that will change at some point..

  • Hi again,

It’s not possible to move the “wordpress.com” address from site to site, so moving your content (as you confirm you have done) is exactly what we recommend. I can also confirm that when I visit lukeheal.art I am redirected to lukehealart.wordpress.com as expected.

If you wish you can set lukeheal.art as the address of your site by upgrading to any of our plans, but since you are just starting out with your new site our Starter plan is a good fit for now. It will allowyou to set your custom site address, and will turn off the advertisements we show on free sites to help cover our operating costs.

By the way, if you upgrade to the annual version of the plan, it includes a free domain for the first year. If you decide you would like to give that a go, please let us know and we can apply the money you spent on lukeheal.art toward your upgrade so you do not pay full cost.

    Thanks!
