using the featured posts area of the showcase template on more than one page

  i’ve been playing with the features available in the twenty eleven theme, and i love the aesthetics of the ‘featured posts’ area in the showcase template. the catch is that you can have multiple pages in a blog that use the showcase template, but only one can have featured posts, because they are linked to the ‘sticky’ feature. if it were possible to feature posts on pages by selecting/linking them to a category, not only the sticky option, we’d be able to use the aesthetic on multiple pages without having to create new blog URLs for each page using this feature (which is what i’ve seen others doing). and it would be nice as an attractive navigation feature as well if it didn’t announce ‘featured post’ either.

  and it would also be nice to not have a 10 post limit on the feature. :)
