Using theme 'Forever' I cannot get the sliding images promised in the demo
-
I have followed the instructions on the Theme’s info page regarding sticky posts with feature images: http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/forever/
but it still isn’t working for me – I’m trying to get those sliding images with captions at the top of my site just below the menu tabs, and I would like for each image to link to the relevant page. Am I doing it wrong or is it just not possible? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Currently, it looks like you have a static page set as your front page under your Reading settings here:
https://ukccd.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-reading.php
The slideshow only functions on the Posts page. In this case, that would be this page according to your current settings:
http://ukccd.wordpress.com/about/interventions/
However, it doesn’t look like you have marked any of your posts as “sticky”. Can you give that a try and let me know if the slider shows up on your “Interventions” page?

Hi,
Thank you for getting back to me – I have set the front page to ‘posts’ and made the ‘tester’ post with a feature image sticky but its still not showing up as a slider?

Hi there,
You’re almost there! The featured image for the sticky posts needs to be at least 888px wide (the current one is just shy). Can you try uploading a larger featured image for the sticky post?
Also – do you know if it’s possible to insert a logo into this theme?
Yep! You can definitely accomplish this in the form of a custom header image as explained here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/custom-header-image/
Let me know if you have any additional questions!

Thank you so much!
I actually have two more questions (I hope you don’t mind!)
1 – I am still unsure why, but I know that I can’t have plugin’s on this site but I need a ‘sign up for our newsletter section’ do you know how I can insert this without using a plugin?
2 – Can I have a subheading underneath my main title – i.e – Campaigning for Cultural Diversity? Or does this theme just not allow that?

Not a problem! The slider looks great. Please see my additional answers below:

You could use the Follow Blog widget mentioned here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/follow-blog-widget/
It looks like you already have that widget active on your sidebar. Just a note, the widget will only showcase an email field to visitors that aren’t logged into WordPress.com. Does that make sense? You will not see the email form when you visit the site. Here’s how it looks when other folks view your site:
Is that what you’re looking for?

The Forever theme actually includes the tagline underneath the slider as shown here:
If you would like to incorporate the tagline higher up, you could look to add it to your custom header image. Would that work?
