Using theme template for portfolio page?

I love the theme templates for the Home, About, and Portfolio pages, but the Portfolio page isn’t part of the theme once I’ve activated it. How do I implement the theme on my portfolio page?

    WP.com: Yes
    Jetpack: No
    Correct account: Yes

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to moderators and staff)

  • Hi! I see that your site uses the Shawburn theme at the moment. The Shawburn demo portfolio comprises custom content – a tiled gallery, and a set of columns where the “our work” content is; but it doesn’t make use of the portfolio projects function as such.

What I can suggest for getting your portfolio projects to show on your Portfolio page is to use a ‘Query Loop’ block on that page. The Query Loop is used for showing blog posts, or pages, or other items like portfolio projects – there’s a setting which lets you choose which type of item it should display.

If you add that to your Portfolio page and set it to display per your preferences, then it can provide an overview of your portfolio projects. In case of need, we have a guide for the Query Loop block:

It looks like you may also wish to set up a menu on your site, so that visitors can easily find your different pages. Shawburn is a classic theme, which means that you can create and manage a menu via the Customizer, which is located at Appearance > Customize. We do also have a guide for menu management too; for example this is the guide to help you start creating a menu:

I hope that helps, if you do have any other questions let us know!
