Using Title and Meta Tags

Hi and thank you in advance for providing a simple way to create and use Title and Meta Tags.
I have been doing some reading on these topics, in order to increase traffic and exposure on the World Wide Web.From what I can understand, having these tags are a way to create exposure and visibility. Can someone please help me understand how to set title and meta tags up on my blog? Thank you for your time and kindness.

Yes, you have asked about meta tags before. Even if we had them they would not be nearly so powerful as the tags we already have, along with the tag pages. They are useful for people who don’t have the advantages of a WordPress.com blog.

Hi raincoaster. Thank you for your time and help. I am sorry if I came across in an abrupt manner. Same with you timethief. Thanks for your help. Honestly, I did try and look in the forums and the faq’s for information, but I could not locate an answer. Thank you for the clarity and you both provided very helpful information. To everything there is a learning curve and do to my disability, I sometimes need more clarity and help understanding.

With my very first blog at Blogger I did all these meta tags. Then someone told me meta tags were useless and dead on search engines. :(

It’s questionable about the use of meta-tags <keywords> and <description>; however, <title>, in my opinion, is one of the most critical starting points to any seo strategy. Please don’t negate the importance of the <title> tag… you should actually keep it at the forefront of your efforts!

Hmm well meta tags aren’t completely useless… I posted a little about them in my blog, but plan on going more in-depth with them later this week.

The only time I have used Meta tags was to verify a blog then I just deleted after verificaton. That just my 2 cents.
