Using VodPod for Widgetbox Widgets
-
I saw in my search that perhaps I might be able to use VodPod for some real estate widgets on widgetbox, but that was all it said, and now I can’t find the post. Can anyone elaborate on this? Would it be possible, and if so, what would I have to do?
:)
Thanks! -
It’s probably not, but without a link to your blog and the code you’re trying to use, we are only guessing. If we had both of those things, we could give a more informed opinion.

I don’t actually have the blog yet, strictly theoretical.
I know that you can’t use java on .com normally, and these are java widgets, but, like I said, I did see a post that said vodpod might be helpful.
But, here is code anyway.
<script type=”text/javascript” src=”http://cdn.widgetserver.com/syndication/subscriber/InsertWidget.js”></script><script>if (WIDGETBOX) WIDGETBOX.renderWidget(‘f73b93c7-4f0c-47ae-af47-d8b2a99e62fa’);</script><noscript>Get the Mortgage and Loan Calculators widget and many other great free widgets at Widgetbox! Not seeing a widget? (More info)</noscript>
I guess maybe I need to explore this further.
Thanks -
Well, of course it depends on the blog. Fully a third of the questions we get are from WordPress bloggers in the wrong forum and our answers won’t apply to them.
And Vodpod has, at WordPress’s request, disabled the extra functionality that allowed you to embed things other than videos into POSTS. If you want, you could try adding it to your Vodpod account and putting the vodpod widget in your sidebar as an experiment, but I very much doubt it would work.

As I understand it the vodpod button for wordpress is limited to videos only. It used to work for other flash and script files, but that was blocked due to security concerns here.
