Using WordPess Search Function

The main site search function seems to be basically non-functioning when searching by topics. This seems to be a sticking point for readers looking for what interests them on the home page. Even if most readers come by way of a search engine, a viable search on the home page is really important.

All logged in wordpress.com user have a searchbox they can use to search your blog located on the top left of the gray navigation bar on the top of the blog. For your other uesers you can install the search widget http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/search-widget/ in your sidebar.

Also note that if your provide Categories and/or Tags widgets in your sidebar your visitors can use them to locate your posts by categories and tags.

The Archives widget provides access to posts by date.
