Using wordpress.com domain on blogger

Hi, I’m having trouble connecting my WordPress domain to my Blogger page. I followed the Blogger instructions as much as I could (WordPress won’t let me add the A type DNS records). The site opened up a few times then it redirected to WordPress landing page. It’s very upsetting because I was led to believe that I could use attach a WordPress domain to a site outside WordPress. Could a staff member please fix it so that it works. Thanks.

You can’t connect a subdomain that ends in wordpress.com but you can connect a custom domain like your .com one.

Hi @penandeasel! Are you looking to connect a custom domain (such as mygroovydomain.com) to a Blogger page? If so, Blogger should provide you with DNS settings to do this.
Once you have the necessary DNS settings, you can navigate to the Domain Management page, click the three dots under “Action” → “Manage DNS”.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I’ve put in all the DNS settings as per Blogger instruction but the site still isn’t working. I keep getting a WordPress landing page with the message “Something new is coming”. I tried contacting you via the help centre but the AI is useless and, when I ask to contact a human, nobody replies. So I’m writing to you via the forum again. Could you please look at things at your end so that my site works. Thanks for your help.

I had a look at your domain settings, and it’s currently still pointing to WordPress.com
I had a look on Google and I see their AI answer is wrong. It doesn’t provide accurate information.But their support doc lists some IP addresses – https://support.google.com/blogger/answer/1233387?hl=en which I suspect will be what you need.
If those don’t work, then it may be worth reaching out to them to find out what they need. As Blogger isn’t hosted here, we don’t have any direct insights on this or ways to test it beyond what we can see in their public documentation I’m afraid. -
