Using WordPress for the first time.
-
I have just registered for the free package and a free domain. I am a developer and use hard programming using Html, Javascrip, Jave, CSS and PHP.
I am trying to learn and use WordPress for the first time so that I can ease my work and offer WordPress as the gateway to their site.
Can this be done as it is for testing purposes without purchasing additional items that you are selling.Kind Regards

Hi there!
You will need the WordPress.com Business plan to enable the features that would let you use PHP and JavaScript on your WordPress.com site. Essentially, the Business plan enables a WordPress.com site to have custom themes and plugins. If you create WordPress themes or plugins, you could add them to your site.
If you’re using WordPress for the first time, the free plan gives you access to many of the core features — the wp-admin dashboard, the block editor, the Full Site Editor (also known as FSE), and the default themes (which are great for learning purposes).
If you’d like to modify things with code without upgrading, you might want to try installing the open-source version of WordPress from WordPress.org on your local computer. You can see how to install WordPress locally on your computer here. This can be a great alternative while you’re learning.
Hope that helps!
