Hi – I have written a book that I would like to make into a free eBook available through a website. I think I can use Word to create an ePub version, but can I can this to WordPress? Or can I build an ePub inside WordPress? Which approach would be better?

    WP.com: Yes
    Jetpack: No

    Hi there!

The feature is not built into WordPress, so I searched to see if there were any plugins available, and I stumbled upon this: https://wordpress.com/plugins/mpl-publisher/

I’m not sure how exactly this plugin works, but based on the plugin description, it sounds like it might be what you’re looking for. You can also see the search result for other plugins with the term epub here: https://wordpress.com/plugins?s=epub

You can use plugins on your WordPress.com site with the WordPress.com Business plan or higher. The Business plan gives you access to additional features, such as real-time backups, setting a custom domain as the primary address, uploading audio/video, and many more.

I think it might be easier for you to create the epub on your computer first and then distribute it via your WordPress.com site, especially since you’re not looking to sell the book and would like to distribute it for free.

If you plan to sell books through your site in the future, you can consider using the Payments block for collecting payments from your customers.

    Hope that helps!
