Using wordpress username to make comments on other blogs

I have two wordpress.com accounts because I have blogs which address two quite different issues and I don’t want to mix them.
Mt problem comes when I wish to make a comment on another blog, it could be WordPress or Blogger and I am required to use some profile – Google, WordPress, Typepad, etc. I wish to use the appropriate WordPress account, but often, no matter which account I use, even when I am logged into that account at the time, I get a message back saying I don’t own that account, when in fact I do.
The problem is exacerbated by confusing messages at the bottom of Blogger blogs, and I think sometimes at the bottom of WordPress blogs, not making it clear exactly what information they want – username, blog name, or email address, etc.
On one recent occasion the Blogger comment box wanted me to give my WordPress username which is not visible anywhere on my blog because I use a more complex username for security and then a nickname publicly. Without giving that name to the other blog, I couldn’t comment.
I am getting frustrated not being able to show that I really do own the two WordPress accounts and hence often being unable to comment at all.
Does anyone else experience this? Am I missing something obvious? Does anyone have a solution please?

No. But I found that although WordPress welcomes me to this forum with my nickname, it used my username above, showing that it doesn’t seem to care about this sort of security – despite my reading (if I remember rightly) on a WordPress site the suggestion of having a more difficult to guess username and a simpler nickname. So I was a little disappointed in that.

PS That is the same me, now using my other account. It can get difficult to keep the two apart. :)
