    Hi sailinfl,

I’m currently a premium package subscriber. You can certainly download a wider selection of free themes as a subscriber and there are widgets available as part of your subscription.

However, third-party widgets and plugins cannot be downloaded on WordPress.com. This is due to security concerns. But, most of the features of popular plugins are included anyway.

I’ve found that this page explains things very well:

I think the best feature of a premium package is the enhanced support available. Very helpful in regards to domains and choosing a theme!

If you have any other questions, just ask!

Premium users on WordPress.com have access to exactly the same themes and widgets as free users, so @cobalteye’s answer in that regard is not correct. The only themes that can be used on WordPress.com are the ones listed at https://wordpress.com/themes and it’s not possible to add new themes at all, regardless of what upgrade you buy. WordPress.com themes cannot be downloaded for use on other platforms.

All widgets on WordPress.com are also available to all users, regardless of upgrade, and it’s not possible to install any additional widgets or plugins. Plugins and custom themes can only be used on self-hosted WordPress.org sites.

What Premium does offer is a custom domain name for your site, extra storage space, the ability to upload audio and video files to your site, and some advanced customization options for your theme. You can see a full outline of what’s included in Premium here:
