Using wordpress.com to teach class

I teach wordpress Boot Camp at our local library every month or so. Recently, I’ve had problems (but it did work) with the students all using my website in the initial days for practice prior to setting up own website. Yesterday, they got messages saying I’ve exceeded the number of logins into the site. How can I get the students (up to 12) on and practice uploading pages? When I tried using multiple users, I don’t have that many mock emails. Please advise.

Do I understand correctly that your students are all logging in with the same account? If that’s the case you might find this happening if too many people using the same IP try signing up to the same account in too short a space of time.
Might I suggest an alternative:
Create a number of student accounts for yourself. You can do this with a single email account if you use Gmail: username@gmaildotcom, username+1@gmaildotcom, username+2@gmaildotcom, etc., are all seen as the same email address by Gmail, but our system sees them as different, meaning you can have one Gmail account, but use it for 12 WordPress.com username accounts.
Add all those accounts as users on your teaching site. Then you can give each student their own username and password for the initial phase before they create their own accounts, and when they move on you can change the passwords and reuse those same accounts for the next group of students.
