Using WP through Hostgater and not through this first account

I am fairly new to setting up a website. I went directly to WP and created an account paid for a plus account and then got totally lost when it got to the creation part. I found a great YouTube vid that has walked me through everything on hostgator and am trying to install wp through that process. I am getting an error – An installation already exists at https://khelectricalsolutions.com as per our records. To re-install the application please uninstall the existing installation! Please help me figure out how to delete the first account. I canceled the plus subscription and now I’m scared to ‘delete’ the account altogether as I don’t understand what will happen.

    WP.com: Yes
    Correct account: Yes

    Hi,

It seems like you’re using WordPress.org software as opposed to WordPress.com software.

To find help for WordPress.org you can go here: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

WordPress.com takes care of the hosting and installation, whereas with WordPress.org you must install WordPress.org software on the host. To learn more about the different between WordPress.com and WordPress.org please go here: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/

Hope you can find a solution!

Thank you for explaining the .org v .com. When I try to close the .com account I get this message below, and am worried that I will screw myself up and not be able to move forward with .org. I purchased the domain from Google, but I do not think that’s the issue. I am really struggling to figure this out and move forward with the website creation. If anyone can assure me that if I delete the .com account I will be able to move forward with the .org/HostGator creation, I would be so grateful.Account closure cannot be undone. It will remove your account along with all your sites and all their content.

You will not be able to open a new WordPress.com account using the same email address for 30 days.

You will not be able to log in to any other Automattic Services that use your WordPress.com account as a login. This includes WooCommerce.com, Crowdsignal.com, IntenseDebate.com and Gravatar.com. Once your WordPress.com account is closed, these services will also be closed and you will lose access to any orders or support history you may have.

ok so if I cancel the .com account I should be ok with the account on .org as they are different platforms right?
